This is a piece I did in conjunction with a snowboard shop in Tahoe City, CA and Smokin Snowboards.  Unfortunately, it didn't end up getting used but I was pretty stoked with the outcome nonetheless.  This was to be the base graphic, the top sheet is below.  The concept of the tree morphing into the mountains is based loosely on another piece I'm currently working on (and have been for quite some time now).

India ink and watercolor on wood, approx. 10" x 37"

So here's the topsheet design for the Smokin' graphic.  The graphic was for the KT-22 (named for a lift at Squaw Valley for those not in the know) and my aim was to stick with the tree theme and actually spell out KT-22 with the tree roots...

Old Man in the Mountain, may he rest in peace. 2009.
Watercolor and acrylic on wood panel, approx. 13" x 40"

I did this piece right after my wife and I got back from Brazil.  Having seen the Corcovado in person, I can say with complete confidence that this piece does it no justice at all.  The crazy thing about the Corcovado is that at night it's illuminated and presents the illusion of a giant Jesus floating above the city.

This is a piece I did in college--pretty basic but I dig the composition and character of it.  It's now part of the permanent collection at my alma mater.  The ironic part is that I "misappropriated" the chair on which this painting is done, and my alma mater actually bought it from me to add to the permanent collection.  Karma will catch up to me at some point on this one.

Ink on folding chair.

The piece above is done in a west African styly known as Uli.  Uli drawing uses small characters and symbols to create a bigger picture or to tell a visual story.  I've always like drawing eyes and was able to get lost in the detail on this one.  One of my all time favorites.

Untitled, 2000
Pen and ink on paper

This is a self portrait I did that tells a little mini story.  It's about the manner in which the media lambastes us with all of these unobtainable images of self and personal "goals".  But the second we question why we are working towards these hollow ends, we are slapped in the face and bombarded with more.  Think about it.
